Equipment Monitoring At Duke Energy Nuclear
A successful Equipment Reliability strategy relies on a strong performance monitoring. Per INPO AP-913, performance monitoring includes system and component performance monitoring. The OSI-PI system is integral to Duke Energy Nuclear’s performance monitoring strategy. It is a major single platform that receives important system and component data from diverse sensors, control systems, and data acquisition devices. It enables advanced analytics for continuous machine health assessments. It also provides a major source of truth into our plant equipment for Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Chemistry, and Radiation Protection. With OSI-PI, the Nuclear organization can take proactive maintenance on a timely schedule, reduce emergent equipment issues, and make informed operational and business decisions. Ultimately, Duke Nuclear benefits from OSI-PI by optimizing equipment reliability, plant availability, and Operations and Maintenance costs.
