Integrating the PI System with Business Intelligence tools is an effective way to give your process data a new look. In this lab you’ll learn ways to integrate PI with BI, both inside and out. Hands on exercises will use the PI Integrator for Business Analytics to create Asset and Event Views (summarized & sampled) which can be imported into BI tools. For comparison, a view will be created using the PI SQL Client. Using Power BI, students will design a report which uses analysis filters to dynamically set asset and time context for drilling into real-time data using PI Vision. We’ll also demonstrate the use of tooltip pages to add depth to any report. One example will demonstrate the use of Power BI to give a comprehensive view of the PI System itself. A tool many PI System admins may find useful.
