Power Generation is facing many changes such as the type of generation, new innovative technologies, smaller and less experienced workforce and decreased operating and maintenance budgets. Dominion Energy chose to approach those challenges by partnering with RoviSys to Develop and implement a PI Asset Framework (AF) structure for three combined cycle and one coal-fired power
plants. PI Asset Framework is being utilized by Dominion Energy to organize the large amount of available data, incorporating condition based maintenance analytics and event frames while integrating with SAP, and improving operations performance using analytics, event frames and visualization of valuable information regarding these plants. The PI AF structure has proven valuable in incorporating advanced pattern recognition software. The initial PI AF structure developed for this project will serve as a library for rollout of PI AF to other sites in the Dominion Energy fleet in 2020 and beyond.
